Light Helicopters (LH)

Light Enforcement Helicopter (LEH) is a short-range turbine-powered helicopter used to conduct aerial reconnaissance of fixed or moving targets.

LEHs are the optimal aerial surveillance platform in metropolitan areas because their vertical lift capability and maneuverability allow operations from congested off-airport sites. EO/IR sensors and video downlink provide intelligence and communication support that improves officer safety during high-risk operations and increases concealment during surveillance operations. Recorders document suspicious activity for evidentiary purposes. The LEH flies with a crew of two (pilot and observer).
